As a community focused business, we are totally committed to supporting local charities and events.
In the year we celebrated 18 years in business, the entire company
has worked closely with a number of charities to raise money, donate time, provide support and help towards making a difference.
Here’s a snapshot of what we have done in the last year.
Karl Tatler Bags for Life
To help protect the Wirral and its wonderful environment, we launched a campaign to encourage the use of 100% recycled ‘bags for life’. Within the first three months over 3,000 bags were given away at our branches and special charitable events.
British Red Cross in Merseyside
Our support for the British Red Cross in Merseyside raised £1,843! We staffed stalls, made cakes, raffled prizes and helped directly with PR and marketing initiatives to raise awareness about the invaluable, and often unknown, work the charity does for local people.
Headway Wirral Dragon Boat Festival
Karl Tatler entered a team in this annual charitable event and raised £1,145 for local charity, Headway Wirral who work to improve life after brain injury.
Orrets Meadow School
Children at the Moreton based school were excited to receive scooters and footballs donated by Karl Tatler for the playground.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
Our staff raised £178 selling home-made cakes and coffee as part of the “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” for Macmillan Cancer Support.
African Women's Aid Network
We donated several computers, which would have otherwise been recycled, to Chester-based charity African Women's Aid Network so they can be put to good use in Africa. The charity focuses on assisting African women who are in need of help as a result of poverty, HIV, abuse and other problems.
Children in Need
Our staff donned their ‘Pudsey Bear’ costumes to sell home-made cakes and raffle tickets, for a variety of prizes all kindly donated by local businesses, to raise £720.82.
This annual Christmas present appeal for underprivileged local children was supported by all seven of our branches. Over 200 presents were donated by Karl Tatler staff and the public. The biggest Mission Christmas to date, in total over £975,593 worth of toys were distributed to 27,500 underprivileged children throughout the region who otherwise wouldn’t have woken up to any toys on Christmas morning.
