Andrew Spink MSc, Data Analyst, takes a look at the two most pressing questions for sellers...
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SELL?
A common concern for many potential vendors is how long it might take to find a buyer. There are often cost implications of staying on the market for too long, such as additional mortgage payments or bills.
Based on sales data for the past 18 months, the average Wirral property finds a buyer within 14 weeks. It may be more comforting to know that, over the past twelve months, 43% of Wirral sellers have found their buyer within six weeks.
There's no magic formula, but pricing your property correctly from the beginning goes a long way towards a speedy sale! The more people who view your property, the better chance you have of selling quickly.
Property platforms, such as Rightmove, are fantastic for attracting early interest and enquiries, but don’t underestimate the impact of a proactive local agent with strong contact database. We found that 76% of buyers with accepted offers in 2018 registered with us directly!
ARE PROPERTIES SELLING IN MY AREA?
The Wirral property market is very insular, with around 80% of buyers already living in the area! With a diverse range of property types, locations and schools, the Wirral is always a great place to buy property.
This is all reflected in the sales activity in recent months. The map shows the active ‘hotspots’ for sales agreed throughout Wirral in your area according to Rightmove data.

We’ve found that properties marketed at the right price are still attracting plenty of interest, no matter what time of year. A local, experienced agent is best placed to advise you on the current market value of your property.
