What will the Wirral market look like in Spring 2017?

In our previous market update, we suggested the market would become very competitive by Easter based on activity in 2016.

In the first quarter of 2017, we have actually seen the number of new listings across Wirral reduce and have witnessed an increase in the number of sales agreed. This rise in sales activity comes as little surprise given the availability of low-rate mortgage deals on offer for buyers at the moment; while the volume of applicant registrations in our sales offices have seen an increase on the same period last year.

For those currently on the market, or planning to be in the near future, this is promising news. While the market has still seen more properties added than sold so far this year, the healthy sales figures have made it slightly more competitive between buyers. A reduction in the number of viewings per sale compared to 2016 shows buyers have been acting fast in 2017 to ensure they secure the right property.

When it comes to selling in spring, there are many benefits that crop up every year; extended evening viewing times, for example. Given that market confidence and attractive mortgage deals are never guaranteed, this spring is likely to see plenty of market activity across Wirral.
