What is Land Registry data?
The Land Registry is a government department responsible for providing a reliable record of information about ownership and interests affecting land and property within England and Wales. Anyone buying or selling land or property, or taking out a mortgage, must apply to register. Consequently, the Land Register contains a database in excess of 24 million titles across England and Wales showing evidence of ownership, and covers more than 83% of the land mass.
The Land Registry have made this data publicly available through their website, allowing you to search for property prices and browse their reports about land and property sales in England and Wales.
